Rob Coloney comes to Notre Dame from the northeast, previously having grown up in New Jersey, and residing in Connecticut for the past decade. Rob studied at St. Peter's Prep in Jersey City, NJ, before earning his BA and MBA at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT. Most recently, Rob served as Director of the Jack Welch College of Business at Sacred Heart University. In this role, Rob focused on the matriculation of the entire student, from “backpacks to briefcase,” by assisting with student programming, advising, instruction, employer relations and professional development. Additionally, Rob was an adjunct professor at SHU.
Rob joined Sacred Heart in October 2012, and previously served as the Assistant Director of Student Financial Assistance, where he worked directly with prospective, incoming and first & second year students at Sacred Heart. After working in Aid for over a year and a half, he transitioned to the Office of Career Development & Placement, where he served as the Director of the College of Business. In that role, Rob personally met and assisted thousands of students in their resume, internship and full-time job preparation.
Rob returned to Sacred Heart after earning a position with the New York Yankees in 2009. In his free time, Rob served as the Varsity Girls Basketball coach at Wilton High School in Wilton, CT from 2013-2018, and also assisted with Sacred Heart University athletic events as a broadcaster.
The opportunity to join Notre Dame is a dream come true; the mission, passion, and mindset of all who embody the University are palpable. I look forward to developing meaningful relationships, striving to positively impact students, faculty, and staff alike. It is nothing short of a privilege to join the talented team in Graduate Career Services, and I am eager to begin to collaborate internally and assimilate to the community of South Bend.
