Bring ND To Work
Students seek access to engaging, real-world experiences. Bridge the transition between academics and the world outside. Bring Notre Dame to your workplace! Invite a group of Notre Dame graduate students to your organization by becoming part of our Career Exploration Treks. Or ask individual students to job shadow at your workplace over a scheduled break. Alumni play a vital role in helping to make these hands-on learning opportunities available to students.
Career Exploration Treks
Treks serve as a catalyst to consider and explore new and different career pathways. During a career trek, a small group of students spends approximately two hours at your place of work. The students are eager to learn about the organization, meet employees or ND alumni and hear about their career paths. Another critical component of a career trek is a hands-on project, such as participating in a brainstorming session, observing research and development, or taking part in a case study working session.
Job shadowing is an opportunity for an ND graduate student to gain insight into the company culture, workspace, and ethos in a condensed timeframe, typically just 1-5 days. Hosting a student at your workplace gives them an invaluable glimpse into what industry or job function feels like in practice. Students not only see what a particular job would entail, but also how work environments differ from each other.
